Busy as a Bee Necklace

While shopping at Artbeads, I found this really cute brass bee charm.  Charms are not usually my favorite thing, but I was taken by this little guy and added a few to my order. The flower shaped filigree is a new piece for me too.  I like the way they work together.

Of course, all of the glass beads I selected had to be yellow and black.  What else could I possibly use to accompany a bee?

I recently listed this cute necklace in my etsy shop.  Click on the photo to go directly to the listing.

As Bright as the Blazing Sun!

Let me start by saying that at this point in my life, I love all colors.  I didn't always feel this way.  I had certain prejudices and some colors would go in and out of favor with me.  One of my formerly unfavorite colors was yellow.  These days, I kinda like it.  Very much.  Even so, these earrings are a bit over the top for me.

These beads are from a vintage glass necklace I dismantled.  Not only was the necklace in poor condition, but it was really, really ugly.  Something about these beads however, spoke to me.  I love their shape, but the color is a bit too bright for me to wear.  Over the past couple of years, I've sold several pairs of earrings using them.  This is my latest pair to feature these sunny beads.

They are for sale in my etsy shop.

New Petite Earrings

I've recently listed two new pairs of earrings in my etsy shop that fall into the petite category. I have several more pairs all photographed and ready to add over the next week.

In the spirit of "keeping it simple", this collection of earrings feature single beads that are beautiful enough to stand on their own.

Lemony Goodness

handcrafted jewelry earrings sterling silver oxidized yellow citrine brioletteI've never been a big fan of the color yellow ... until recently. Now, it seems I can't get enough of it!

These citrine beads are cushion cut (at least I think that's what it's called) briolettes. The faceting is amazing and allows the light to reflect at every angle. Sometimes the beauty of the stone speaks for itself and needs very little adornment. These stones certainly fit that category.

These earrings are perfect for spring, summer ... oh, what the heck, wear them year round!

They are for sale in my etsy shop. Click on the photo to go directly to the listing.

Lemony Citrine

handcrafted jewelry earrings necklace yellow citrine marquis briolettes
The color of these citrine marquis cut briolettes is astoundingly yellow. The faceting enhances that color by reflecting light at every angle. I've used oxidized silver with this stone, as the contrast between the yellow and the gray is just lovely.

I've used large link chain on the necklace. The earrings are on leverbacks, for maximum security.
If you love yellow, these items are for you. Click on the photos to go directly to the listings in my etsy shop.

Golden Citrine

jewelry earrings sterling silver citrine peridot iolite
The citrine briolettes featured in these earrings were purchased at the Bead Shack in Anchorage. They are incredibly clear and smooth. I'm usually attracted to faceted gemstones, but these just spoke to me.

I've suspended them from a short length of sterling silver chain. From each link, I've added a gemstone, alternating iolite rondelles and peridot briolettes.

This color combination is regal and also makes me think of spring!

Golden Clarity . Citrine Earrings

I purchased these extraordinarily clear and smooth citrine briolettes at one of my local bead stores. The owner of the Bead Shack is a world traveler and owning a bead store gives her all the reason she needs to travel and explore.

I topped these yummy beads with a small cluster of mystic topaz and pink and green tourmaline beads. The color combination is a bit different for me, but I do love the way these earrings turned out.artisan jewelry earrings sterling silver citrine briolette

Striped Lampwork Earrings

These artisan lampwork beads feature stripes in shades of golden yellow and cinnamon-y orange. I have surrounded them top and bottom with amber beads.

From below hangs a chain: each link of the chain holds a bead of amber, ranging in color from a rich, buttery yellow to a pale honey color, finishing with warm cinnamon. Some of the amber is transparent, some is translucent and some are completely opaque.

All of the silver is sterling. Length from the bottom of the leverback earwires is 1 3/4" (4.5 cm).
