Brand New Victorian Styled Earrings

I recently came up with a new earring design using some of the antiqued brass filigree that I have fallen in love with.  Brass is affordable and gives me the opportunity to use elaborate components without resulting in a pair of earrings that would cost  $80 or more.  These same filigree teardrops in sterling silver would be extremely expensive.  I like to offer a wide range of designs to my customers and my brass collection has opened up a whole new world.
I gently pried open the teardrop and inserted a glossy aqua glass bead.  After closing the teardrop at the top, I wrapped it with some brass colored wire.  This really gives the earrings a more finished look.

They are for sale in my etsy shop.  Click on the photo to go directly to the listing.

Pretty in Pink . Pearls . Tourmaline . Earrings

These earrings are a bit different and came into being while looking at my beads with a new set of eyes, much the same way as these earrings.  The pink pearls have proven difficult for me to use effectively, as they are drilled on the diagonal.  Of course, they look great strung together and form a chevron pattern, but I was tired of that look.

Wrapping the pearls with sterling silver wire, straight across the top, leaves a line of wire from the exit hole to the top wrap.  I suspended a pink tourmaline rondelle from that bit of wire.  Different, huh?

You can click on the photo to go directly to the listing and see how these earrings look when hanging.

Quick note -- I will be out of town February 3-14.  I hope to do a little blogging while in Tucson about the shows and my bead purchases :)

Peridot - August Birthstone

handmade jewelry earrings sterling silver peridot
In honor of all people born in August, I listed these brand new peridot earrings. I adore these small peridot briolettes, but they're a little too small to use alone. Three at a time is better than one.

I suspended them from circles that I fused from fine silver wire. I hammered and textured the circles before oxidizing all of the silver. I used my hand formed sterling silver earwires to complete the earrings.

Happy birthday, August babies!

These earrings are for sale in my etsy shop. You can click on the photo to go directly to the listing.

The Jewelry Box - Lovely Jewelry by Brenda

Brenda is another of my teammates on the Artisan Beaders Street Team. Her etsy shop is chock full of delightfully romantic and feminine jewelry designs.

This lovely bracelet is joyful and full of different greens ... perfect for spring. The greens include prehnite and peridot and adorable little butterflies ... all in a well balanced design that makes this piece of jewelry so easy to wear.

Brenda also knows how to keep it simple and classic. The earrings below feature luminous tiger eye briolettes and very special brass earwires.

This next pair of earrings epitomizes Brenda's romantic style. I love the way she combined the intricate filigree with delicate beaded drops.Be sure to visit Brenda's etsy shop and don't miss her shop on 1000Markets!
